The long wait is finally over, and while Ford began the countdown a few days ago, a few reassuring images leaked, but ladies and gentlemen, this is it, in all its glory. The seventh-generation Ford Mustang is here and it has the right to be waking us up early in the morning to bring you an in-depth feature first. From the look of it and the features it comes with, it's going to continue carrying the claim of "the world's best-selling sports coupe".

Everything looks promising - right from its muscle-toned exterior to its fighter jet-inspired cockpit, to the new turbocharged unit, and yes, the naturally aspirated V8 which isn't dead for the all-new model. So pony car enthusiasts can rejoice.

The introduction of the latest Mustang is a bold step for Ford considering its rivaling manufacturers are slowly exiting production of the internal combustion engine. The Mustang, however, continues to soldier on with a turbocharged, fuel-efficient engine with all the latest connected technology added to the mix.

This is the start of a new chapter; a new beginning of an icon. The new Mustang will be sold as a coupe and a convertible, and enthusiasts will not be starved of American V8 muscle, or a manual transmission. The automatic models are being offered too; so is the 4-cylinder, turbocharged engine.

2024 Ford Mustang Looks Sharper

There's nothing hard to like about the way the new car looks. It's muscular, and edgier and all the lines are there to tell you it belongs in a Mustang community of muscle car enthusiasts. The low, horizontal brow spanning the width of the front, gives it a wider look, and the grille design has been inspired by the Mustang from the 1960s.

The headlights haven't lost out on the Tri-Bar LED design, also seen on the outgoing model. The roofline is sleeker than ever, and the short rear overhang is here to stay, taking us back to the proportions of the first-generation model. The rear haunches are now wider, but again, that's very typical of a Mustang.

Ford has paid extra attention to the roofline - not that it's bad to look at - but they wanted to ensure the driver enters and exits with a helmet on, without having to remove it. The rear-end features the signature tri-bar lighting, plus a redesigned diffuser to enhance aerodynamic balance in the rear.

Each model of the new Mustang comes with a face that's slightly different from the others. The GT looks more aggressive, with a larger grille opening for better airflow, new hood vents, and a redesigned front splitter.

Apart from the regular colors, there are two more added to the palette: Yellow Splash and Vapor Blue. There are new stripe colors that go well with the body color. You can now choose between three Brembo brake caliper color options, like Grabber Blue, Black, or Red. Also, the alloy wheel designs are all-new, ranging from the standard 17-inchers, 19-inchers for the GT, and optional 20-inch alloy wheels.

2024 Ford Mustang Interior Is Tech-Heavy

The moment you're inside, the new Mustang is unlikely to remind you of its predecessor. It's technology-laden, and Ford says it's the most driver-centric cockpit in a Mustang so far. The curved displays can be customized to reflect information the driver needs to be aware of.

It also features a 12.4-inch digital instrument cluster that can be customized, showing various animated displays and new drive-mode-dependent visuals. While choosing the drive mode settings of your choice, the new car's setup is displayed on the center stack as real-time graphical renderings.

The instrument gauge, which features a copper look, is also seen on the Mustang Mach-E. Everything featured in the displays can be configured to selected tones, while the instrument clusters adapt to drive mode selection. Drive mode settings can be adjusted by swiping the graphic to rotate the car virtually.

It now gets an all-new, race-inspired flat-bottomed steering wheel. There are animated welcome lights that greet the driver when he/she approaches the car, and after getting in, the Mustang splash screens turn on.

Remote Rev is a new feature for those who love hearing their Mustangs rev. It allows you to rev the car's engine remotely, with the use of the key fob. The Mustang comes with all-cloth seats as standard, and there are optional Micro Suede vinyl inserts and black seat belts. The higher-grade models will feature wrapped and accent stitching across the doors and the instrument panel.

Opting for the EcoBoost models will treat you to Ford's ActiveX synthetic leather upholstery, with various color options to choose from. The GT models, on the other hand, get leather seat inserts. Keep putting more money into your Mustang, and you'll get a full-leather steering wheel and various other interior options. The new Mustang also shares the Ford Power-Up software from the Mache-E SUV.

2024 Ford Mustang Engines Are Why You Should Pre-Order It

Gray, Blue And Red 2024 Ford Mustang FamilyFord

You should consider getting yourself one because, with the new Mustang, Ford has kept the V8 alive for enthusiasts. Ford's leaving electrification for the rest of its range, with the Mustang being spared.

While the Mustang GT is powered by the more advanced, 4th-generation 5.0-liter Coyote V8 engine, the EcoBoost model is powered by an all-new, 4-cylinder turbocharged 2.3-liter engine. The V8 also comes with the option of a 6-speed manual transmission, while the 10-speed automatic transmission remains as well.

Apart from Line Lock which is featured on the sixth-gen Ford Mustang GT, the new one gets what is called an electronic drift brake, which has been designed mainly for track use. It unlocks the car's rear-wheel-drive drifting ability without the use of the mechanical hand brake. The new Mustang continues to make its driver feel like a superhero!
