Frankie Chan, DO

Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine - New York

I grew up in NYC, which is a great city just like DC. Some of the things I enjoyed doing in NYC included exploring the city, going to different restaurants, and visiting the museums, which I have continued to do here. I’m a huge foodie and love sharing/taking recommendations on places to eat at!

In my spare time, I follow the NBA closely and watch an occasional tv show. I’m also an avid Harry Potter fan and have read over 10,000 fan-written stories (fanfictions).

I was born and raised in Southern California and developed a love for all things medieval by frequenting Renn Faires in the summer and having birthdays at Medieval Times growing up. This gave me a great appreciation for history and I even thought I was going to be a Medieval Historian before I found Osteopathic Medicine! I still go to the Maryland Renn Faire (the best I've been to thus far) every year and play Dungeons and Dragons whenever I can commit to a group.

My other hobbies and nerdy passions include Warhammer (tabletop miniatures game), Magic the Gathering card game, and online vidya games when I have the time. I stay sane by going on dog walks with my partner who owns a doggie pet care business and religiously following whatever my current Athlean-X training program is!

Lilian Gobriel, DO

New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine

I grew up in Egypt and got my first medical degree there before I came to the US with my family. I got my osteopathic medical degree from NYITCOM before moving to DC for residency. I live with my husband and two children in Northern Virginia.

I am so excited to be one of the Wright Center team for its great contribution to primary care and caring for the underserved population. I feel privileged to practice at the Washington DC location as well. I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, and watching TV.

Tahsin (Farah) Kabir, DO

New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine

I spent most of my life in New York City jumping from borough to borough. I grew up in Astoria, Queens, and went to high school in the Bronx, college in Manhattan, and medical school in Long Island. A lifelong passion of mine is tv and filmmaking.

Between college and med school, I spent a year working as an intern at HBO Documentaries where I honed the art of the interview but mostly ran around getting drink orders for famous people like Giselle Bunchen (chamomile tea with lemon). My time as a production intern inspired me to pursue family medicine, a career that very much involves interviewing people every day.

When I’m not at work, I’m usually chasing after my rambunctious 1-year old golden retriever named Leo at the dog park, trying out a tasting menu at a new restaurant, or rummaging through the mystery/thriller aisle at Lost City Books.

Jigar Shah, DO Chief Resident

New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine

I was born and raised in New Jersey and graduated with a degree in biomedical engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology. I then completed my medical school at the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine in Long Island, NY.

I am an obsessed sports fan. Football and soccer are my favorite sports to watch. I'm a die-hard fan of the New York Giants and Chelsea Football Club in London (Go Blues!). I love to play basketball as well. I also enjoy playing PlayStation, games like Call of Duty, and FIFA. One thing on my bucket list is to visit all the US national parks!

Sarah Maya De Guzman, DO

Touro University Nevada College of Osteopathic Medicine

Did you know that there are 27 different species of snakes in Maryland?  I have a harmless and healthy obsession with snakes, as well as true crime. I've driven my 2 pet snakes from Cali to DC and look forward to bringing them to work one day.

My life before the rigors of medical school consistently perusing regional reptile expos and being involved in the local bay area reptile society. I wholeheartedly advocate that snakes make perfectly sound pets as they are beautiful, quiet, and low maintenance. On any given weekday after clinic, I'm usually working at home with Nancy Grace, True Crime Daily, Forensic Files, or Unsolved Mysteries in the background.
