I wouldn’t bother with anything else. $20 but it works and it works well. You not only get great read/write support, but you can even format drives as NTFS with macOS’s disk utility. level 2 I’m pretty sure there are free versions labeled under WD/Seagate software. level 2 Does it work for you on Monterey? Since upgrading my NTFS thumb drive only mounts read only. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled and it still doesn’t work. level 2 paragon / tuxera. Seems like both do exactly the samething tbh. Not sure what are difference. level 2 I used to be of the same opinion.. been using Paragons versions of NTFS for Mac for almost 10 years now but with the M1 chips I'm not sure if they are worth it anymore. Their installation expects you to downgrade security to the Mac which is a poor choice for a software to just write to NTFS drives. FUSE based solutions like NTFSTool won't work on M1 Macs AFAIK. level 1 Vouch for paragon. But theres other option like tuxera. I used to use tuxera 2018. Until i reformat all my harddrive to ExFat, No problem since. level 1 I'm using Tuxera and never had an issue for years. That's endorsed by Microsoft. Format external disks, secondary partitions in ExFAT. I’m pretty sure I last downloaded it from their official website. I do have a Paragon Seagate external hard-drive and I first followed their instructions, but later cleaned up my mac and reinstalled everything and I remember downloading an official version from their website. Might be an old version that is hard to find through the links, not sure. level 2 That’s only for Seagate drives. level 2 There’s a free one BUT it only works for Seagate branded hard disks. It’s the one I’m using now since I own a Seagate external drive. It doesn’t work with non-Seagate though (I tried, it just reads, doesn’t write). level 1 Paragon worked great for me when I formatted my new Seagate Backup Plus 10TB external for use of Parallels/Windows 10. level 1 Sadly I personally just take the hit and shell out for paragon ntfs.
