SupermodelMe: Revolution champion Nguyen Quynh Anh from Vietnam graces the digital cover of Harper’s BAZAAR Singapore with her beauty and poise.

After a seven-year hiatus, the modelling competition returned to the small screen in 2021. Thai supermodel Cindy Bishop takes on the role of head judge and photographer Yu Tsai is the creative consultant, while models Ase Wang, Hanli Hoefer and Catriona Gray serve as fellow judges.

The show puts 12 models across Asia to the test in various photoshoots, runway and modelling challenges, eliminating one contestant every week till the winner is crowned. The prizes include a Subaru ambassadorship, a modelling contract and a digital cover on Harper’s BAZAAR Singapore.

Nguyen clinched the title after trumping 11 talented models such as runner-ups Nikki Advincula de Moura from the Philippines and Singapore’s own Hannah Cheng-Bradshaw. 

At the season finale, the judges were impressed with Nguyen’s exceptional performance during the disco-themed photoshoot. Her full-body image was so remarkable that it made judge Hanli Hoefer ask if Nguyen was a trained dancer because the pose was that believable.

The judges were also dazzled by her walk during the final couture runway challenge. Cindy Bishop and Catriona Gray pointed out that her poise, elegance and subtle modelling of the clothes were testaments to Nguyen’s experience on professional runways, which other girls lacked.

Prior to Supermodelme, Nguyen had participated in another reality competition in 2018 – The Face Vietnam where she placed second. Her success in the show opened up many opportunities such as the Aquafina Vietnam International Fashion Week, Fashion Voyage, and several magazine shoots.

After the finale aired, Nguyen admitted in a Facebook post that she never thought she could win the competition. Now that she has, she wants to continue inspiring young girls who aspire to be models when they grow up much as she did.

Nguyen is represented by Basic Models, Wonder Wall Management and Sight Management. Her Milan Fashion Week debut took place in February on the Vitelli runway dressed in a fully knitted ensemble from the label’s fall ready-to-wear collection.
