Twelve nations, 70 different unit types, 100 research opportunities, and over 140 different historical buildings are available to the player. Besides the battles ashore, players can build an armada and attack their enemies at sea. Cossacks 3 offers five historic single player-campaigns and up to eight players can fight each other in multiplayer-mode on one map. The player can forge alliances with or against others as well as challenge the computer. Randomly generated maps provide endless variations and can be adapted to the gamer’s needs. I have the both versions, CD and Steam. I use now the Steam version and I can play to multiplayer without problems on LAN and Direct IP modes, but game servers like Spy Game and GSC don’t work, so it is ok to play with your friends but not to play with unknow people. There is a patch that fixs it but my experience is that nobody is using this servers so for practical purposes is like the fix doesn’t exist. I suggest you set XP Service Pack 3 compatibility.

How can I play Cossacks 2 on Windows 10?Cossacks II: Napoleonic Wars. Buy the game and install it (DUH). Go to you steam accont map in windows explorer. Steam\steamapps\common\Cossacks II Napoleonic Wars. and select the file: 'engine' Rightclick it -> properties -> Compatibility -> ... . Press ok.. start the game by double clicking on 'engine'..
