The Greater Mekong Delta sub-region of Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam has been posting stellar growth figures in recent years, and looks set to continue this trend. Show Afghanistan International Bank Afghanistan International Bank (AIB) remains the most stable and reliable institution in a country facing one of the world’s worst humanitarian crises. Numbers are one measure of its success. Revenues for 2022 rose 66% year on year to Af3.69 billion ($41.8 million), while non-interest income more than doubled to Af3.05 billion. Its capital adequacy ratio was solid, non-performing loan levels more than manageable and its balance sheet continued to grow. ABA Bank, a member of National Bank of Canada Group, has been named "Best Bank in Cambodia 2023" by Global Finance magazine. This prestigious award was presented at the 30th annual awards for the World's Best Banks event in New York, where ABA Bank was recognized for its strong performance in the market and its commitment to meeting the needs of its customers. The judges of Global Finance praised ABA Bank for its exceptional performance over the year, highlighting several recent developments. These include the introduction of the first-in-Cambodia Card Machine with a multi-language interface that enables customers to issue international debit cards and local Cambodian Shared Switch cards in just two minutes. ABA customers issued 220,000 cards via ABA Card Machines in 2022. In addition, ABA Bank developed Junior Account – a digital account for minors from 10 years of age and up, offering access to modern banking and cashless facilities through their own ABA Mobile app. The bank also integrated new services and features on the ABA Mobile app, such as a non-collateral instant Salary Loan for employees of the companies who opted for the ABA Payroll service and an innovative insurance purchase platform through a strategic bancassurance partnership with Manulife. Furthermore, ABA Bank expanded its network of branches and self-banking spots across the country, boasting 85 branches and 30 24/7 ABA spots. The total number of self-banking machines in the Bank's ecosystem reached 1,200.
